E&H Manufacturing President David Haney understands the importance of adapting to the state’s ever-changing oil and natural gas landscape.

“Due to changes in regulations in the industry, we’ve had to continue to grow by exploring different avenues and manufacturing new innovative products to keep up with the times,” he explained. “We used to be primarily upstream for so long, and now we’re delving into midstream more than ever.”

E&H Manufacturing is a steel fabrication company located in Charleston, W.Va. Founded in 1975, E & H has been supplying aboveground steel storage tanks, ASME pressure vessels, measurement equipment, pumpjacks, inline gas heaters and other custom-built products to West Virginia’s oil and natural gas industry for more than 45 years.

A member of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, as well as oil and natural gas associations in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Ohio, E&H continues to grow with the industry and boost the economy in the Mountain State by manufacturing products for both the upstream and midstream sectors and multiple other industries.
Haney said newer requirements that pipelines have implemented for natural gas producers in the state have made it more difficult for the smaller operators to meet those needs economically.

“We’ve been fortunate to come up with ways to combat some of these challenges. We’re designing and assembling a prototype that will take natural gas from the smaller transmission gathering companies and produce pipeline quality gas they can insert into the pipeline,” he said. “This also will give them an alternative revenue stream in the way of liquids.”

Business as usual remains at E&H, while they continue to offer a wide range of machining and fabrication services to an array of industries. Haney remains optimistic for not only the future of his company, but also the oil and natural gas industry in the Mountain State.

“We’re counting on government officials to continue moving the industry in the right direction, Haney said. “On top of that, we’re excited to be building a new structure at our plant that will feature the largest crane we’ve ever had.”

Haney stated that the 25-ton overhead crane with 36-feet under the hook will allow E & H to handle bigger vessels and tanks and also diversify what they can build.
